"But the problem with that is... vampires hold grudges. His sister had a lot of very devoted followers. They want revenge. They vowed that they'd find me and take it. Without Erik's protection, I'll be tortured to death by them. If I'm lucky. So, it's serve him or... that. All things considered, I'd rather have the damn brand on me."
