She sighs again, and by now she can no longer resist the urge to comfort him. This time she maneuvers to push herself into his lap, sitting sideways so she can rest her head on his shoulder. What is he going to do, push her off? She doubts it.
"You will not make anything worse. Edgar thinks the world of you, Max - and I cannot say it will not be a difficult topic to discuss, but if you consider your words before you speak them, you will be fine. Just...take your time." Essentially: think before you speak. In nicer words.
She shakes her head. "You will. 'Tis in your nature - but that is not a bad thing."
