It's a strange sensation, sitting in Max's lap and not feeling that instant warmth and safety of his arms around her. But it's fine, she can do it just the same - wrap her arms around him and nuzzle her face into his neck, conveniently hiding the look of sadness in her own eyes.

You want to help people, Max, and perhaps your methods are a bit...clumsy now, but you will find your feet. You just have to keep trying." She squeezes her arms around him tightly.
