Maybe they can get hold of one of those removable collars for Max so he really can just wear the tie, with something to give him a bit of protection when it’s pulled on. Because they agree, it makes an excellent handle.
Trusting Max to keep them safe, they free their other arm from around him as well, sliding both hands up his tie now. “Shame. But it’d be a shame to ruin it too.” Clever fingers fiddle with the knot, loosening it enough that they can tug it wider, and then undo it, taking their sweet time, and letting it tug around Max’s neck in the process. “It’d better wait for another time.”
As they finally undo it and let it slide off his neck, their fingers moving to the top button of his shirt, undoing it and then pushing it aside so they can lean in to kiss just below his Adam’s apple.
