Having been invited, it doesn't take long for Marcus to take advantage of Max's offer to drop by his room and help himself to baked goods. The fact that Max isn't there when he does it makes no difference - some might scruple and raiding a man's goodie stash when he isn't present, even if invited, but Marcus has never had that particular principle.
Which means that Max will return one day to find Marcus leaning on his table and eating whatever cookie was closest to hand. He gives his unwitting host a wave with the half-eaten cookie and swallows, not at all embarrassed to be found here. "Evening."
