"Oh, several things happened," Pyotr wearily agrees, turning the plate in small circles with one hand -- and still making no move to actually touch the muffin. "I find myself in a rather unpleasant and unfamiliar situation. To put it as diplomatically as possible, I've been intimate with Erik for some few months...and now I find my trust thoroughly bruised."
He glances over at Max. Seen up close like this, his eyes are darkly shadowed, to the point that they almost seem to sink into his face. He's either exhausted or deeply unwell. Either way, he probably can't go on like this much longer.
"I was hoping you might relate," he finally says, and sits back in his chair to await Max's response.
