The Kanien’kehá:ka aren't really big on Christmas, but New Years is when we celebrate what we’ve been given and honor the births and deaths of the land and people.
I'm not real big into my heritage but some things are pretty ingrained at this point in my life.

I think that's a great way to celebrate. Welcoming in a new year does seem like the best time to reflect and show gratitude.
