Max is clearly visible through the big glass window that looks all the way in on the kitchen. He's busy wiping down the large marble islands in the center of the room, brushing extra flour and small pieces of chocolate, sprinkles and pastry crumbs into his hand so he can dispose of it. He's wearing his favorite new apron over a simple white buttoned shirt, sleeves rolled up past his elbows. His blue tie is tucked inside his shirt to keep it out of the way.
When he notices Flint, he quickly brushes his hands over the trash can and then waves for him to come in. He'll come out of the kitchen to meet the man in the cafe area.
"Welcome to French Kiss," he says with a flourish of his hand. "Come on in, let me show you around. This is the dining area, obviously. We had a pretty good crowd. And if you come back here," he leads the way behind the counter back to the kitchen entrance. "Back here is where the fun happens."
The kitchen is nearly as large as the dining area itself. The walls not made completely of glass windows are lined with ovens, and racks for cooling, double wide refrigerators, on and on. The rest is taken up with stovetops, counter spaces laden with industrial sized stand mixers and every other kind of baking and decorating equipment one can imagine, and maybe some things one couldn't imagine without seeing it. It's a baker's paradise. A true slice of heaven for Max.
The kitchen is so modern, a catch-all word Flint has had to begin using for everything from the future for lack of a better one. It's as spacious as any kitchen in a manor house would be, but with amenities they'd never dream of. Those automatic mixing bowls, for instance. He's sure any kitchen maid would die to get their hands on one.
He nods slowly, keen eyes taking it all in. "It's very impressive, Max. You'd be able to keep the entire castle fed with this." He grins. "I can't guess what half of these are for, but you must have all the modern conveniences."
