Rowan grins, eyes drifting from Max’s body up to his hair. “Course I promise.” They’re the last person to laugh at someone over something they feel self conscious about. “But I bet it ain’t as bad as you say.”
They start to pull their clothes back on, wiggling into their jeans with easy practise. “But we can also go out via your room if it makes you feel better.”
"You'll see soon enough." Honestly, it's just some frizz, Max. "Nah, by the time I go get it, my hair will be halfway dry and then it won't matter. Might as well embrace it." And maybe borrow some of that mousse.
He watches with some fascination while they wiggled back into those jeans. He had wondered just how the hell a person gets those on.
"More power to you for being able to wear those," he says, stepping out of the shower, "I don't think I'd be able to do it."
"If you ain't still hot as fuck, I'll eat my jeans." Rowan grins at him, pulling their jeans up the last bit and then tossing him the other towel before adjusting them on their hips.
"And you'd never be able to wear them 'cos you're packing heat and a half." Rowan teases. "Plus you got all those lovely muscles in your legs. There are some advantages to being a stick, right?" They pull their shirts on next, then cross over to the desk to brush a comb through their hair and work a handful of mousse through, sweeping it to one side as usual.
"Now, now, there are better things to eat." Max bites his bottom lip suggestively.
He makes quick work of drying himself off, spending the majority of that energy on toweling off his hair, for all the good it will do.
"Yeah, pretty sure I'd rip the seams out of 'em. That would be a waste." Max makes a show of looking up and down Rowan's legs. "But they sure do look good on you. So you go ahead and take that burden for me."
"Much better, but we're meant to be trying not to jump straight back into bed." Rowan laughs, poking at Max's stomach playfully as they pass him, going to select a scarf and wrap it around their neck, settling the fabric over their chest easily, obscuring the lines there. Then they flop down in the chair to wait for him, legs slung over the arm comfortably.
"So what you're saying is I should get you a pair of arseless chaps and cut the middleman." They smirk, watching him just as blatantly. Why not? There are many things to admire about Max, and his body is one of them.
He makes a sound like the Pillsbury Doughboy as when they poke him "Hoo Hoo!" And it cracks him up. Him, a doughboy? Not unless he really overdoes it on the cookies here.
He raises a brow at them, pausing halfway through pulling his trousers on. "Assless chaps, huh? That's one thing I've not worn yet. Could be fun."
He enjoys their looking while he finishes pulling his various articles of clothing on. Theirs is a wonderfully affectionate gaze.
"Okay. Look at that. We both managed to get our clothes back on without getting sidetracked. So far so good. We better hurry and get going before it's too late."
The joke flies over Rowan's head, but they're not worried about that. The idea of Max in arseless chaps is much more interesting. And distracting. They'll have to look into that some day, maybe if they ask Max nicely... he doesn't seem too against the idea.
Crossing over, they take his arm, kissing his cheek affectionately. "So we did! Come on, then, let's get out in public before I start stripping you again." They tug him towards the door, happy to get to spend the day with him.
If Rowan asks, the answer is going to be yes. He'll ham it up for them too. Get ready for all the bad cowboy jokes!
He loops his arm in theirs and lets himself be tugged along. It's nice. It's nice to go out together like this. It almost feels... like a date. but he will put that thought aside and just enjoy himself and their company. What a rare and wonderful gift it is.
